A Yard of My Very Own

Remember that hole in the wall that I told you about? Well now I understand what it's for. See, the big guy put these white boards around the grass and now they let me run around all by myself!

My mama plays with me in there, and so does grampa AND gramma. She throws the frisbee to the other end of the yard and last night she even ran back and forth with me. This is so much better than the hard roof that I used to have to play on.

The best part about playing frisbee is when they try to get it away from me. I run circles around them so fast that they eat my dust! Although maybe I should give it back so they can throw it.

Hmm.

Here's me and mama playing this afternoon. She told me to tell you that she threw the frisbee better in another video, but I wasn't as cute in that one. Then she said something about taking one for the team. I didn't know we were on a team.

Anyway.

There's a Hole in the Wall

And I can get outside through it!

My grampa put this swinging thing over the hole and now I can go outside ALL ON MY OWN! He put these big white things up around the grass and now they let me run around without that stupid string attached to my neck.

Pine Cones!

Have you ever seen these things? They grow in the grass and are super crunchy and are really hard to hold on to. When I try to run with one it wiggles away and tries to run across the yard, but I always catch it.

Sometimes my mama kicks them to help them get away, but I'm too fast for them.

Even More People

My mama keeps bringing more people to the house. Don't get me wrong, I like them A LOT, but it's tiring checking on them! I found that sometimes it's easier to sit up here.

Now I can keep an eye on everyone without being told I stole their seat. (How am I supposed to know it's their seat? It's warm! That's all I know.)

Do you have a special place you sit when you need to get away from everyone?

Fol-low-ers

That's you, right? Mama says you're my friends and that I should thank you for listening to me go on and on about the silly things in my yard. And the house. And my mouth.

Thank you!

I don't spend very much time on the computer -- although I have finally figured out that the weird booping noise is my papa calling -- so I don't know if there are other puppies out there on the internet. Do you know if there are blogs or websites that I should check out? Maybe someplace I can make more friends?

MORE People

Phew! Sorry it's been so long -- mama wouldn't get off the computer. Something about an outline... I don't know. Every time she says 'out' I run to the door so I don't really hear the rest of what she says.

The house got busy this week! When I was still with my papa I met this guy who rubbed my ears and tasted pretty good, and after mama and I went for a really long ride in the refrigerator we saw him! And this other guy was there -- one I met in the middle of the night after my plane ride. I still don't understand how they know each other, but now the first guy is LIVING with us!

He keeps telling me to get down and making me sit -- all things my papa would NEVER make me do -- but he did give me some of that cake, so he can stay.

I Think She Needs to Stop Eating Sugar

I don't know what she's all excited about now, but there's talk of something called a CAKE so I think I'll stick close to her until I find out what it is.

Yes I Want to Go for a Ride!

I don't know why she even asks. Duh.

I don't know where we're going, I'm just happy I get to come along.

I Don't Think That's a Chihuahua

I can't believe I forgot to tell you about this!

Last week mama and I were exploring the backyard when I smelled something GOOD. I sniffed and sniffed and ran in circles and couldn't get enough of the musky woody scent. Mama said something about my head exploding from sniffing too hard -- at least I think that's what she said. I couldn't really hear her.

So I'm sniffing. Trying to track the scent like I saw a dog doing on TV when all of a sudden there was this CRASH from behind the trees! It looked like a tree came to life! It was big and brown and had all these branches on its head. Leaves went flying and birds flew all over the place.

I'm no dummy so I high-tailed* it out of there, but my mama didn't run so I only got about fifteen feet. That's when that stupid string around my throat jerked me back. She wasn't even paying attention to me. Me! Her baby! She was bent over staring into the trees and kept telling me to come look.

Nuh-uh.

I finally dragged her away to the safety of the front yard. The only things out there are cement, cars, and barking dogs. Just like I like it.

*really my tail was down between my legs.

Leaves!

(The wind is really loud so you might want to turn down your volume.)

I found another fun thing to chase -- leaves! I don't understand what kind of animal they are because they bounce all over the place, then just lay there. It's kinda weird.

Just when I think they aren't going to play anymore, they try to get away!

Time Out?

Okay, I get it. I should have listened after she said NO fourteen times, but have you ever tasted a sock?

Happy Birthday to My Papa

I think mama had too much coffee this morning.

She put this bow on me to wish my papa a happy birthday, but I don't know why she couldn't just put it on her own head if she was so excited about it.

At least it tastes good.

The Birds Here are Weird

Just when I figured out what a pigeon is, we come to this place that has all kinds of weird stuff. Whenever we go outside I hear this noise that mama says are --

*looks at mama*

Geese.

-- geese. Whatever that is. All I know is they honk and honk when I'm trying to pee.

Then we saw these HUGE white birds in the river. They were pretty far away but I could still see them yelling at each other and flapping their arms. They must have been pretty mad. I think she said those are called --

*looks at mama*

Swans.

-- swans. Right.

I haven't been close enough to chase them, but I'm already plotting the day I can slip away from mama.

What I Do All Day

It's hard, but somebody's gotta do it.

I Learned a New Trick

Mama is CONSTANTLY telling me not to chew on all the best stuff. She's pretty smart and can always tell when I've found a string or piece of paper or chunk of bamboo -- it's like she has radar or something.

Well I figured out a way to out-smart her. If I'm chewing away, minding my own business, and she asks what I have, I just stop chewing. I give her the look that always makes her coo, and she goes back to the glowy box on the table.

Then I go back to my chewing.

It's genius.

Setting the Record Straight

Somebody thinks my mama writes my posts.

I hope you believe me now. (Even without those thumb things.)
