Just when I figured out what a pigeon is, we come to this place that has all kinds of weird stuff. Whenever we go outside I hear this noise that mama says are --
*looks at mama*
Geese.
-- geese. Whatever that is. All I know is they honk and honk when I'm trying to pee.
Then we saw these HUGE white birds in the river. They were pretty far away but I could still see them yelling at each other and flapping their arms. They must have been pretty mad. I think she said those are called --
*looks at mama*
Swans.
-- swans. Right.
I haven't been close enough to chase them, but I'm already plotting the day I can slip away from mama.

Dear Owen --
Please have your mama explain that GEESE ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS! Especially if they have goslings (ask your mama, she'll know what goslings are) anywhere nearby. I know this from having had too close an encounter here at the Botanical Gardens one spring.
Love,
V
Wow, thanks for telling me.
So that means the swans are okay? I do know how to swim, ya know.
No -- swans aren't friendly either. Wait until you see squirrels -- those you can chase!
Are those like the little lizards we had in Mexico? Those were fun but they never came off the walls.
You'll LOVE squirrels, Owen. They're so much fun! :D
Big birds are less fun.

Oh gosh, Owe, I'm still not used to the geese.
Just keep back if one's ever in your yard. They're mean.
Very cute! Be very careful though ;o)
I'm scared of geese!
*scoops up Owen and kisses his forehead*
Yep, avoid geese and swans, those big beaks hurt.
Squirrels, so much fun they will entertain you for ever. Quick, small and able to change directions fast. Best fun chasing those. Makes a lizard seem like it is standing still.
Another animal you will soon see is bunnies, they love to be chased, they really do.....
They're vicious birds, Owen. A mama goose once bit a chubby guy I knew on the belly. OK, maybe I was glad, and maybe I even laughed. But not with you! Stay away from the mean old geese, please.
Okay, so squirrels are what I need to look for. I heard my mama and gramma talking about bunnies the other day but I figured it was something to eat. I'll have to keep my eye out for them.
Owen, a loud, gaggling flock of geese just flew over my house, and I thought of you!
Those geese can be crazy! I run by one in my neighborhood and every time, he (or she) flaps its wings like crazy and honks. Every single day.
The swans are pretty though!
Owen, I have that same problem when I try to pee. Stoopid birds.
Auntie Stacey
I'm glad I'm not the only one.
ROFL, Stacey!
